How can I have never heard of the wonderful Pobblebonk frog before now!?

The call of this Australian burrowing frog sounds just like a banjo string being plucked, hence its other nickname. Have a listen on Youtube and you’ll hear exactly what I’m talking about. Amazing!.

Well I couldn't resist posting about this could I? We're in the middle of the World Cup right now and Brazil have styled their away kit on a beautiful, but deadly, tiny tree frog. Brilliant.

Another spectacular frog in my Amazing Frog Facts series. The Chachi frog. Incredible pattern, no wonder it's been nick-named the embroidered frog. Reminds me of popcorn and banana.

WORLD FROG DAY 2026

World Frog Day 2026 and we've been reminded of a recently discovered species. In fact the only frog left in it's family. The incredibly strangely beautiful Galaxy frog, Melanobatrachus indicus.

It lives in the rainforests of India but has been devastated by photographers and explorers searching for it and disturbing it's habitat! There are now a recorded 9010 species of amphibians according to https://amphibiaweb.org Many new discoveries are immediately on the endangered list due to their rarity.

There's just one tadpole here that doesn't have a matching taddie partner. Poor Zephyr! If you colour in each matching pair in a different colour you'll soon discover which one is Zephyr. Maybe you can think of names for all the other taddies?
